I really like how I colored the hair on this one. Hopefully, I could do it again XD

Newest

My specialty is cel artworks similar to those seen in traditional 2D animation - using only enough layers of colors to define lights and shades while still putting perspective, form, and composition into consideration, with the addition of some special effects, to create a sense of realism to an obviously stylized art style.

I am, however, currently trying out new coloring techniques, and hopefully I would soon make use of and combine those with my signature techniques to make more wonderful artworks.

Also check out my comic Soda Pop, an old work but my decent first stab at sequential art storytelling.

Thanks for stopping by!

Favourites

I fave artworks that either demonstrates skillsets I'm learning or I want to learn, or concepts that're either inspiring or just too interesting to leave alone.

Impressions: Phantasy Star Portable 2 demo

Sat Nov 14, 2009, 2:20 PM
  • Mood: Daily Needs
  • Listening to: J-Radio MARU
  • Reading: Draw Horses With Sam Savitt
  • Watching: Slam Dunk episode 88
  • Playing: Valkyria Chronicles 2 Demo
  • Eating: Mushu Pork with Pancake
  • Drinking: Coke (as usual)
Finally got around to downloading and playing the Phantasy Star Portable 2 demo on the PSP.

Overall, I like it.
The shield parrying (Daigo!), rolling (Gears of War!), charge shot (Megaman!), and the new chaining system (which discourages Photon Art spamming) adds new layers of strategy to the already addicting battle system.

My only compaints so far is the lack of situational music or evolving MAGs (both of which were in Phantasy Star Zero on the DS strangely enough).

Also, the Technic Points is now tied to your character instead of your weapons. I found this strange since this goes in conflict with the ability to wield 6 sets of weapons at a time since the reason you (or at least I) switch weapons was because of limited weapon TP. I'm guessing the developers really want us to change how we play the game - I'll eventually figure out if this is a design flaw XD

Can't wait for the release on Dec 3rd!
Even better is that I can transfer my characters, items, and achievements from the demo to the final game.

Oh and yeah this is in Japanese and I'm planning to get the Japanese version (already pre-ordered in fact) because from my experience with the Phantasy Star Online franchise, the Japanese gets more items and updates - do you honestly believe that the Evangelion, Claymore, Pizza Hut, and Shonen Jump items will make it in the US version!?

you have improved so much since the last time i saw ur art! have you been influenced by the artists on the langrisser saga?

--
hihihi! *hand covering mouth*
:iconhaven9270:
Thanks^^

Indeed Satoshi Urushihara is one of my favorite artists. Quite a shame none of the Langrisser games were translated in English. At least there's a patch for the mega Drive Langrisser 2 though.
